Slow Cooker Almond Joy Hot Chocolate

Image
I’m thinking this Slow Cooker Almond Joy Hot Chocolate would be perfect for the upcoming Super Bowl or for class Valentine’s Day parties.  It also made for a pretty amazing run of the mill Saturday last week when I made it early in the morning and then we enjoyed it throughout the day while simply hanging out in our pajamas.  Man, I love days like that!  These are such a fun treat for children as they love dressing up their hot chocolate into something truly extraordinary. This Slow Cooker Almond Joy Hot Chocolate takes just five minutes to prepare, yet makes enough to wow a crowd!  Whole milk, heavy cream, cocoa and almond extract are whisked together to form this decadently delicious treat.  Garnished with whipped topping, sliced almonds and coconut flakes, this hot chocolate is easily the best around. So grab your slow cooker and the six ingredients needed for this warm weather drink and prepare to wow your family and friends.  This Slow Cooker Almond Joy Hot Chocolate is about to b

Salted Caramel Brownies

Image
These are every bit as rich, decadent, and indulgent as they look. A super thick and fudgy brownie filled with chocolate chips topped which a sticky layer of salted caramel. If you’re into ooey, gooey, and fudgy– you do not want to miss out on this recipe. The proportions of the ingredients are really important to the fudginess of these brownies. You’ll see that compared to the amount of flour there is a LOT of butter and sugar. And no leavening agents at all like baking soda or baking powder. This makes the brownies very dense, exactly how I like them. This recipe also calls for both chocolate and cocoa powder. The chocolate (use a good quality baking chocolate if you can rather than chocolate chips) give these brownies that deep chocolate flavor intensified by the cocoa powder. A great option for the caramel topping would be Nestle’s Duce de Leche, which you can usually find beside the sweetened condensed milk or in the Hispanic section of the grocery store. The Most Amazing Chocolate Cake

Image
The Most Amazing Chocolate Cake is here. I call this my Matilda Cake because I swear it's just as good as the cake that Bruce Bogtrotter ate in Matilda. Moist, chocolaty perfection. This is the chocolate cake you've been dreaming of! I made this cake yesterday. Absolutely wonderful! I think next time I’ll freeze one of the layers and just make a 2 layer. Might be nice to have a layer on hand sometime. The 3 layer is really big! Everyone loved the cake. Wouldn’t change a thing. Definitely follow her instructions on buttering/dusting the pans. I only did it on one and then sprayed the other 2 pans to see what would happen. Nothing tragic, but the sprayed pans didn’t come out as easily and had more of a crusty edge. Still delish. This was in fact the most amazing chocolate cake. People kept eating about half of their slices and “putting it away for later”. They called it really good but a bit rich. I must not have a rich threshold. I wanted another slice and so did my chocolate lo

Cake Mix Cookies

Image
I have used both strawberry and orange cake mixes, both with white chocolate chips instead of coconut, and they are gone in minutes! Just an added note – I too have to bake them at least 18 minutes with my oven, but they come out perfect every time.  They turned out great! They were so soft, scrumptious, and ready in no time. My husband calls them “cakies.” Lol. I want to try all different kinds now. I had never heard of cake mix cookies before but so glad I know about it now!  What a great afternoon we had ! We served cookies and milk to her great grandfather and father on the patio. Such a easy beginning to baking and fun for all. The great recipe perfect for a baby shower or luncheon! Heavenly Oreo Dessert

Image
Just made this and it truly is heavenly. So glad I found this recipe. My family enjoyed it . Infact my girls licked their bowls clean. :-). I made this for Father’s Day per my husband’s request and it really is very tasty and everyone enjoyed it. I made it as written except I only used half of the powdered sugar called for in the cream cheese layer as a full cup seemed like a lot to me considering all the other sweet layers. Turned out just fine with the 1/2 cup of sugar. 100% Success!!!! Everyone LOVED it,the kids already asked when was i gonna make it again. It was heavenly. Classic Cream Puffs

Image
I filled the cream puffs with a simple homemade vanilla whipped cream, and dusted them with powdered sugar. I thought about doing a strawberry whipped cream (using crushed freeze dried strawberries for color and flavor) because I thought they might add to the girlie pink shower theme, but in the end decided to just keep them vanilla. Next time I’ll let myself be a little more creative. There are truly so many wonderful things you can make with a good cream puff, both sweet and savory. I’m so glad I had the perfect occasion to make them for. You should have seen my boys when I gave them all the okay to come home after the ladies had left. They stood wide eyed at my little leftover dessert buffet and just gobbled everything up. Made for an easy clean-up! These classic little treats are so easy and fun to make, and are the perfect vessel for a homemade vanilla whipped cream!
